African PVoC
The Pre-Export Verification of Conformity (PVoC) program is a mandatory import inspection scheme designed to ensure that regulated products comply with the technical regulations and standards of the destination country. The program supports consumer protection, fair trade practices, and smooth customs clearance across African markets.
Exporters shipping regulated goods to countries such as Uganda (UNBS), Tanzania (TBS), Kenya (KEBS), Nigeria (SON), Egypt (GOEIC), Morocco (MCI), Cameroon (ANOR), Ghana (Easy Pass), Ivory Coast, and others must obtain PVoC certification prior to shipment. Regulated products are identified using Harmonized System (HS) Codes, which define applicable compliance requirements.
Under the PVoC scheme, each shipment must be inspected, tested, and certified by an authorized certification body. A Certificate of Conformity (CoC) is issued to confirm compliance and is required for customs clearance in the importing country.
